Kumejima Ocean Jet said on 19 September 2026 that its high-speed ship Tsumugi had resumed operation that day. Both the Naha–Motobu and Naha–Kumejima sailings were running. The company said the long suspension had inconvenienced passengers. The same notice says 19 and 20 September are the days of the Kumejima festival.

On 18 September the company said Tsumugi had finished its docking inspection and maintenance at Shin Itoman shipyard (新糸満造船) and had returned to Naha port. The ship had been out of service since mid-August for that hull inspection and dock work. At the yard, ingested foreign material was removed, and related equipment was inspected and maintained.
