BC Ferries said the final round-trip sailing between Crofton and Vesuvius Bay will be cancelled Sunday through Thursday from 18 October to 10 December 2026, so overnight construction can go ahead at both terminals.

During those cancellations a passenger-only water taxi will operate the last round trip. The water taxi has a 12-passenger capacity and will run between the North Cowichan Marina in Crofton and the HASSI dock in Vesuvius Bay. The crossing is approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on weather and marine conditions. Departures are 9:30 p.m. from the HASSI dock at Vesuvius and 10:00 p.m. from North Cowichan Marina. Bicycles cannot be accommodated on the water taxi.

The work is berth and trestle rehabilitation at Crofton and Vesuvius Bay. Overnight construction is anticipated to begin on 8 and 15 October at Crofton, and to continue from 18 October through early December at both terminals.
