Hankyu Ferry said on 6 October 2026 that its vessel Yamato requires maintenance. The company said inspection work had confirmed the details, that an early recovery is difficult, and that it would suspend operations from Tuesday, October 6, 2026, to Sunday, January 3, 2027. The affected vessel is Yamato, on the Shinmoji–Kobe route. The schedule for operations after January 4, 2027, is yet to be determined. Hankyu Ferry said it will post that schedule on its website once it is decided.

Customers with reservations will be contacted in order. The refund fee will be waived. Members of the company's network are asked to cancel through My Page.

A separate notice the same day sets the fee waiver for Kobe-route reservations for sailings from 6 October 2026 to 7 December 2026. The Izumiotsu route is not included. Customers who booked through F-net are asked to cancel on My Page. A round-trip booking that mixes the Kobe and Izumiotsu routes should be cancelled through the reservation centre.
