DFDS completes purchase of Armas' Algeciras–Tangier Med route but drops Ceuta deal
After Spanish and Moroccan competition approval, DFDS completed its DKK 165m acquisition of Naviera Armas' Algeciras–Tangier Med operations, including the 2004-built RoPax Volcan de Tamasite, but walked away from the Algeciras–Ceuta part because the Spanish regulator's requirements went beyond the agreed conditions.

DFDS has completed its acquisition of Naviera Armas' Algeciras–Tangier Med ferry operations after approval from the Spanish and Moroccan competition authorities.
The DKK 165 million deal includes the 2004-built RoPax Volcan de Tamasite, route permits and around 200 employees who transfer to DFDS. The route will be merged with DFDS' existing Algeciras–Tangier Med service, and DFDS' capacity share on a joint freight RoRo run by the incumbent operators rises from 33% to 50%.
DFDS will not acquire Armas' Algeciras–Ceuta operations. That agreement depended on the extent of competition restrictions, and DFDS said the Spanish authority's requirements went beyond the agreed conditions.
DFDS kept its 2026 capex outlook at DKK 1.7 billion, expecting the acquisition spend to be offset by lower-than-expected operating capex.
