Wallenius SOL adds Lakeway Express for Holmen board to Kiel
Wallenius SOL has added the 10,471 GT RoRo Lakeway Express, with 1,625 lane metres, to its Baltic schedule on a long-term Holmen Board & Paper contract that started on 1 October.

Wallenius SOL has added the 10,471 GT RoRo Lakeway Express, with 1,625 lane metres, to its Baltic schedule. She is serving a long-term contract with Holmen Board & Paper that started on 1 October, carrying the company’s board exports from Iggesund, north of Gävle, on a weekly sailing to Kiel.
Last winter the ship was converted to cut her environmental footprint. The work de-rated the main engine and fitted new propeller blades and a new bow bulb. She is strengthened to ice class 1A. Holmen previously used the SCA RoRo service that calls at the Kiel forest products terminal.
