Wärtsilä has signed a five-year service agreement with Viking Line for the passenger ferry Viking XPRS, which operates Helsinki–Tallinn. The agreement makes Viking XPRS the third ship in the fleet, after Viking Grace and Viking Glory, to use Wärtsilä’s lifecycle support. Wärtsilä booked the order in the second quarter of 2026.
The scope covers the ship’s Wärtsilä engines and includes maintenance planning, scheduled spare parts, tailored maintenance support and a dedicated contract manager. Mathias Sundberg, technical manager at Viking Line, said experience on Viking Grace and Viking Glory had shown the value of a structured maintenance approach, and that extending it to Viking XPRS supports reliability, operational efficiency, environmental performance and predictable lifecycle costs.
