Afloat reported on 14 October 2026 that Hibernia Line's flagship St Patrick stopped sailing after a crossing from Cork to Boulogne-sur-Mer at the weekend. The ship could not make her return crossing from France on Saturday and moved the next day to Dunkirk, where she berthed alongside the dry dock at Damen Ship Repair.

Hibernia Line said a technical issue means St Patrick is undergoing repairs and will stay in Dunkirk until they are complete. The company said the Akka continues to run a service between Ireland and France and that affected passengers are being contacted directly.

St Patrick is the former Superfast IX. Hibernia Line launched its direct Ireland to France route on 12 June with six sailings a week in each direction, and began taking foot passengers on 1 July.
