Caremar's 1,397 GT ferry Driade ran aground at Procida, in the Gulf of Naples, early on the evening of 12 October while manoeuvring in the harbour with 115 passengers on board. According to Italian reports cited by Shippax, strong winds pushed the ferry against the harbour breakwater. No injuries were reported.
The 1980-built Driade was refloated the same evening but was held for inspections until the next morning. It then went back into service on its routes linking the islands of Procida and Ischia with the mainland ports of Pozzuoli and Naples.
