Grimaldi Group CEO Emanuele Grimaldi has told Ferry Shipping News where the group's new methanol-ready RoPax ferries will sail. The ships, ordered from a China Merchants shipyard, each offer 3,300 lane metres and room for 2,500 passengers, and are expected to enter service from 2028. They will be deployed on Livorno–Palermo, Igoumenitsa–Brindisi and Piraeus–Heraklion, while three others will be operated by Finnlines. He made the comments at the 27th Euromed Convention in Sardinia. Grimaldi said this year will probably be the best in the group's history, helped by high freight rates and gains from vessel sales, and that it is already looking at a further 2–3 billion in orders for ConRo ships and multipurpose car and truck carriers.
