Shippax reported on 8 October 2026 that Faroese RoRo operator Smyril Line has chartered CLdN's Maxine. The ship is 21,005 GT and 183.4 metres long, with capacity for 2,475 lane metres. She will maintain the Rotterdam–Faroe Islands–Iceland service until Smyril Line's two newbuildings arrive from China. Smyril Line uses the CLdN-owned Distriport terminal in Rotterdam's Brittanniëhaven.
Shippax said Maxine is the largest single-screw vessel ever to enter the port of Þorlákshöfn in Iceland.
The 29,891 GT newbuilding Akranes had a shaft generator failure during sea trials. Skipanes had an engine room fire shortly after leaving China on her maiden voyage. She returned first to Xiamen and is now at a Hong Kong shipyard, where the engine room is being cleaned and repaired. Shippax said Akranes has completed her sea trials and will be delivered imminently.
