Marine Log reported on 28 October 2026 that Hydroniq Coolers has completed the early delivery of a marine cooling system for the first of Washington State Ferries' new generation of hybrid-electric ferries. The ship is under construction at Eastern Shipbuilding Group in Panama City, Florida.
Hydroniq is delivering the Rack cooling system as subcontractor to W&O Supply. Eastern Shipbuilding Group has contracted W&O Supply to deliver the complete marine cooling system for the newbuild. The main contractor and the shipyard ordered a complete, ready-to-install Rack seawater cooler with multiple freshwater systems, including the steel enclosure that is typically built by the shipyard as an integrated part of the engine room structure.
Lars Elling Gloppholm, sales manager at Hydroniq Coolers, said: "We manufacture the entire enclosure and deliver a complete, fully assembled package." Inge Bøen, CEO of Hydroniq Coolers, said: "This is the first time in the history of our company that we have delivered a seawater cooling system four years prior to the vessel delivery date."
The cooler delivered by W&O to Eastern Shipbuilding Group is made with titanium tube bundles.
