Baleària Canarias will refurbish the fast ferries Volcán de Taidía and Volcán de Tagoro and the ferry Volcán de Tinamar over the next three months, to improve comfort on board and bring the ships into line with the Baleària group's quality standards. The company said the refurbishments are part of the €45 million it plans to spend over the next three years on modernising its Canary Islands fleet.
Volcán de Taidía and Volcán de Tagoro operate the triangular route linking Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Morro Jable. Both will have their passenger and catering areas renewed, and their hulls updated with Baleària Canarias' visual identity. Taidía is scheduled for November 2026 and Tagoro for December 2026.
Volcán de Tinamar, which sails between Cádiz and the Canary Islands, will be refurbished in November 2026 without a change to its schedule. The work continues upgrades begun in summer 2026 and includes premium seating.
The company said the programme is meant to bring these ships up to the standard of the fast ferries Mercedes Pinto and Pepita Castellví, the highest-rated ships in the group's fleet. Further work on other ships is to follow.
