Portal Morski reported on 4 November 2026, citing the Polish Press Agency, that POLSCA spokeswoman Sylwia Turkiewicz said Bursztyn Unity is ready for service. The crew is complete. Before the ship moved to its lay-by berth in Świnoujście it was provisioned, including food, water and technical materials, and it was bunkered with liquefied natural gas.
Turkiewicz said the ferry is due to arrive in Szczecin from Świnoujście on Monday 9 November and berth beside Wały Chrobrego. The christening is planned two days later, on 11 November at 11:00. She said external inspections needed for permission to raise the Polish flag are also under way. After the ceremony the ship will make a technical voyage to Sweden and return with passengers. The first planned passenger sailing is at 13:00 on 18 November from Ystad.
The Polish Press Agency reported that Bursztyn Unity will replace Jantar Unity on Świnoujście–Ystad, rather than run a shuttle with her. Turkiewicz said Jantar Unity is to run between Świnoujście and Trelleborg, and that this would be the case in the near term. The agency described the sister ships as 195.6 metres long and more than 32 metres wide, with 4,100 metres of cargo lane, room for about 250 trucks and 400 passengers, and a crew of 50.
